Tile Installation and Tile Repairs in La Quinta and surrounding areas
Pool tiles not only add to the visual appeal of your pool but also play a crucial role in its overall durability and functionality. Whether you’re considering new tile installation or need to repair existing tiles, it’s essential to work with professionals who understand the intricacies of the process. At our company, we specialize in high-quality pool tile services that transform and restore the beauty of your pool. In this article, we’ll outline the step-by-step process of pool tile installation and repair, emphasizing the importance of expert workmanship and encouraging you to take advantage of our free consultation service to get started on your project.
Before diving into the process, it’s important to understand why pool tiles are such a critical component of your pool’s design and structure:
Aesthetic Appeal: Pool tiles come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes, allowing you to create a unique and visually appealing design that enhances the overall look of your pool.
Durability: High-quality pool tiles are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of a pool environment, including constant exposure to water, chemicals, and UV rays.
Ease of Maintenance: Tiles provide a smooth, non-porous surface that is easy to clean and resistant to algae and other pool contaminants.
Waterline Protection: Tiles protect the waterline of your pool, preventing damage to the plaster or other materials from the fluctuating water levels.
Installing new tiles in your pool is a meticulous process that requires attention to detail and expertise. Here’s a step-by-step guide to our pool tile installation process:
The first step in any pool tile project is the initial consultation and design planning. During this phase, we meet with you to discuss your vision for your pool’s tile design. We’ll explore different tile options, including materials like ceramic, glass, and stone, as well as colors, patterns, and finishes. This consultation is your opportunity to share your preferences and get expert advice on the best tile choices for your pool.
We’ll also assess the existing condition of your pool and make recommendations for any necessary preparations before tile installation begins. Our goal is to create a design that reflects your style and enhances the beauty of your pool.
Before we can install new tiles, it’s essential to prepare the pool surface. This involves draining the pool to provide a dry and accessible work area. Once the pool is empty, we thoroughly clean the surfaces where the tiles will be installed. This step is crucial to ensure that the new tiles adhere properly and provide a smooth, even finish.
If there are any imperfections, cracks, or damage to the existing pool surface, we’ll repair these areas before proceeding with the tile installation. This might include filling in cracks, smoothing rough spots, or applying a bonding agent to ensure a secure attachment.
With the surface prepared, we then move on to the layout and planning phase. During this step, we carefully plan the placement of the tiles to ensure a balanced and symmetrical design. This includes measuring the area, marking guidelines, and dry-fitting the tiles to confirm the arrangement before any adhesive is applied.
Proper layout and planning are essential to achieving a professional finish. It ensures that the tiles are evenly spaced and aligned, avoiding any unsightly gaps or uneven patterns.
The actual installation of the tiles begins with the application of a high-quality adhesive or thin-set mortar. We spread the adhesive evenly over the surface using a notched trowel, working in small sections to prevent the adhesive from drying out before the tiles are placed.
Each tile is carefully pressed into the adhesive, following the layout plan established earlier. We use spacers to ensure consistent gaps between the tiles, which will later be filled with grout. This step requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that each tile is level and securely attached.
For more complex designs, such as mosaics or custom patterns, the installation process may involve additional steps to cut tiles to fit specific areas or to create intricate designs.
Once the tiles are installed and the adhesive has cured, the next step is grouting. Grout is a specialized mixture that fills the spaces between the tiles, providing both structural support and a finished look. We carefully apply the grout to all joints, ensuring that it is evenly distributed and fills all gaps.
After applying the grout, we clean the tile surfaces to remove any excess grout and polish the tiles to reveal their full shine. Proper grouting is essential for the longevity and appearance of your tile work, as it prevents water from seeping behind the tiles and causing damage.
Step 6: Curing and Sealing
With the grout in place, the next step is to allow the tiles and grout to cure properly. This involves giving the materials time to harden and bond fully, ensuring that the tiles are securely attached and the grout is solid. Curing times can vary depending on the materials used, but we’ll provide you with detailed instructions on how to care for your newly tiled pool during this period.
Once the tiles and grout have cured, we may also apply a sealant to enhance the durability of the grout and protect it from water, chemicals, and staining. Sealing the grout helps maintain its appearance and makes it easier to clean in the future.
After the installation, grouting, and curing processes are complete, we conduct a final inspection to ensure that the tile work meets our high standards of quality. We check for any imperfections, ensure that all tiles are securely attached, and make any necessary adjustments.
Once the final inspection is complete, we clean the work area, removing any debris or materials, and ensure that your pool is ready for use. We’ll also provide you with guidance on how to care for your new tiles to keep them looking their best for years to come.
If your pool tiles are cracked, chipped, or missing, it’s important to address these issues promptly to prevent further damage. Here’s how we handle pool tile repairs:
The first step in pool tile repair is to inspect the affected area and assess the extent of the damage. We’ll determine whether the issue is localized to a few tiles or if there’s a larger underlying problem that needs to be addressed.
Step 2: Removal of Damaged Tiles
Next, we carefully remove the damaged tiles without disturbing the surrounding tiles or pool structure. This involves chipping away the old adhesive and any loose grout, leaving a clean surface for the replacement tiles.
Step 3: Surface Preparation
Once the damaged tiles are removed, we prepare the surface for new tile installation. This may involve smoothing out rough spots, applying a bonding agent, or filling in any cracks or gaps to ensure a solid foundation for the new tiles.
Step 4: Tile Replacement
With the surface prepared, we install the new tiles using the same adhesive and placement techniques described in the installation process. We take care to match the new tiles with the existing ones in terms of color, size, and style to ensure a seamless repair.
Step 5: Grouting and Finishing
After the new tiles are installed, we apply grout to fill the joints and secure the tiles in place. We clean and polish the repaired area to ensure a flawless finish, making it difficult to tell that any repairs were made.
Step 6: Curing and Sealing
Finally, we allow the repaired tiles to cure properly before applying a sealant to protect the grout and enhance its durability.

Wow, wow, wow!!!! All I can say. We filed a claim with AHS and they sent someone out (not Marcos). It was a JOKE. Guy didn’t even look at anything. Have it on video. I called AHS back and told them I wanted someone else out here. They sent Marcos!!!! His guy Juan came out and was amazing. He spent quite a bit of time to isolate the problem. THEN, he brought Marcos back out just to confirm. First, it was complete obvious that the salt system board was fried. There was a char mark. Then they isolated the problem with the heater. It was a minor fix, (not covered but totally ok to spend to fix). On the Salt System, they are replacing the board, going to be back out to replace and insure the system works. On the heater, the didn’t leave until they made sure (with my wife present) that it was working!!!! Marcos is our guy going forward! Do yourself a favor….if you have an AHS Claim, DEMAND MARCOS and CV Pools!!!!!!!!

We are very happy with our recent visit by Marcos from C.V. Pool Services! We had questions with our combination pool/spa automation system, and wanted to have the system looked at. Marcos answered all of our questions, and then provided us options on how our automation system was setup vs. how we were trying to operate it. He then was able to connect our pump to our automation system and confirm that everything was working for a very fair price and within the same morning. Marcos was very friendly and professional, and we will definitely be contacting C.V. Pool Services for future needs!

After being railroaded by my home warranty company and other pool companies to get absolutely now where. Marco came out diagnosed the issue and fixed it that week. I had been quoted $3,000 by another company to fix my control panel, another Company said nothing was wrong with it and then Marco diagnosed on the spot, had me on text, gave me a quote of $791 on the spot. I couldn't be happier. Not only did he fix that issue he also fixed the issue with my control valves that were installed backwards by the pool company that installed my new heater in Feb 2019. My gas bill was over $600 and the company that installed it once again said nothing was wrong. Well it was, Marco fixed the problem on the spot.

You want professional and sincere repair or service? Call C.V. Pools. The service, and consideration to keep costs down simply can not be beat. I was a first time pool owner, and I had 2 previous pool service companies leave my pool in a state of unbalanced chemicals, and a replacement part being installed wrong. I called Marcos, the owner/operator and he took my call after hours on the weekend while camping with his family, and troubleshooted the problem over the phone with me. Marcos came out first thing when he returned, pumped my pool out, installed part correctly, and had it cleared up in a matter of days looking crystal clear. I had been dealing with it for over 3 weeks before C.V. Pools came out. Marcos kept me well informed, kept cost at literally half of what I had previously paid somebody, and was very knowledgeable, honest and friendly. I could not be happier with the repair work or the cost involved. I highly recommend this company for work. I continue to use thier monthly services. I live in a high wind area, with an abundance of sand being dumped into my pool. Javiar keeps my pool in top shape always.
